Farmers head to Hartford

Representatives from Kimberly Farm in New Milford recently paid a visit to the Capitol to showcase their products and address the House Chamber. The farm, which has been family owned and operated since 1955, is located on Route 109 between New Milford and Washington and expands over 300 acres. The farm offers various vegetables from corn, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, basil, squash, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers and other products in spring, summer and early fall. In late fall, pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, Indian corn and corn stalks are available. In winter, Christmas trees, handmade wreaths, grave blankets and custom greenery are popular products. Kimberly Farm products can be found at the local Big Y, 3 Brothers Diner and the local farmer’s market. Farm owner John Kimberly, left, and his daughter, Maranda, are shown with State Rep. Bill Buckbee (R-67th) during the visit.
