Meadows Brothers to play cabaret-style at Milford Center for the Arts

The Meadows Brothers — featuring Ian and Dustin Meadows of Chester — have been gathering a fair amount of attention for their roots music in the past several years — at the New England Music Awards, at festivals and in small venues throughout the region.

The music? It’s “homegrown, folked-up, countrified, rocknrolled roots music,” as Dustin puts it in an email. And it’s catchy, as you can hear for yourself Friday, March 23, in the “Live at the MAC” series at the Milford Center for the Arts.

The sound relies on tight, twangy guitar play, trade-off phrases and close harmonies — helped by the fact the two are siblings, of course. It’s simple, accessible, folksy country with a little blues edge.

Live @ the MAC concerts have cabaret seating, with bring-your-own food and drink. Wine, beer and soft drinks, as well as snacks, are also available in our Speakeasy Lounge.

Milford Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Ave., Milford. Friday, March 23, 8 p.m. $20, $15. 203-878-6647. http://milfordarts.org
