Peter Asher & Jeremy Clyde bring enduring tunes to The Kate for 2 nights

The Saturday, Feb. 29, concert by Peter Asher and Jeremy Clyde at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook is sold out, which is why a second concert was added Sunday, March 1.

That speaks to the melodic folk/pop music and memories that Asher (of Peter & Gordon) and Clyde (of Chad & Jeremy) made so many years ago — tunes such as “A Summer Song” by Chad & Jeremy and “I Go to Pieces,” “Lady Godiva” and “A World Without Love” by Peter & Gordon.

With charm and English wit, Asher and Clyde combine now for an evening of music and stories. Clyde acted on “Downton Abbey” and Asher produced the likes of James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt.

Asher went on to pen the book “The Beatles: From A to Zed,” based on his SiriusXM radio show “From Me To You” on the Beatles Channel; while Clyde tells tales from Chad & Jeremy's appearances on “Batman” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show” back when Baby Boomers were kids.

The Kate, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook, Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 29-March 1, 7 p.m. $48. 860-510-0473. TheKate.org
