The New Milford Chaos 12-and-under softball team concluded its season by winning the Fairfield County Fast Pitch Softball League championship tournament). This tournament showcased the best teams in Fairfield and Litchfield counties.
This is the first time that a New Milford 12-year-old team has ever won this tournament. The Chaos went 5-0 in the tournament and out-scored its opponents 31-6. New Milford beat Ridgefield in the championship game 3-1 behind a complete-game two-hitter by pitcher Allison Neak.
The team includes players Carly Lynch, Sophia Granata, Charlie Vaughey, Mia Antonucci, Avery Dayton, Hannah Bauer, Sam Classey, Kyleigh Stellato, Sydney Scalzo, Meaghan Sheedy, Shelby Curry, Rachel Hoffman and Neak, and is coached by head coach Joe Vaughey and assistants Dawn Curry, Frank Antonucci and Chuck Lynch.
For the tournament Neak, Scalzo and Dayton led the pitching effort, while Sheedy, Charlie Vaughey, Hoffman and Mia Antonucci led the hitting attack.
