To the Editor:
I just returned home from the fourth annual Sip ‘n Stroll on the Village Green in New Milford, a benefit for Camp Jonathan, New Milford VNA & Hospice’s camp for bereaved children.
Once again, a fun night was had by all the strollers!
A record number of tickets were sold, yet traffic flow was great, stores were never overcrowded, and the ambience on the streets of downtown New Milford was warm and friendly.
I saw so many old friends and had great conversations reconnecting with people and places.
I think that is the best part of the event, seeing so many wonderful friends.
Super kudos to event manager Debbie Matta. Debbie definitely has that special something, knowing how to organize a fun and meaningful event, and how to bring people and community together for a great cause.
She is also the “Weather Whisperer,” somehow able to summon fair skies and a crisp beautiful December evening with the moon shining above.
Her team of event workers, including Kerri Brinkerhoff, Celia Pomerantz, Sarah Smith-Mott, Kathy Leier and Carolyn Haglund, did a great job.
And thanks to all the downtown merchants who graciously supplied food and libations (and discounts!) for the attendees, and all who helped raise funds for Camp Jonathan.
This event is really a winner, and I hope it continues for many years.
