The New Milford Historical Society & Museum will present a hands-on workshop focusing on traditional winter wellness recipes Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Registrar Amie Walston and herbalist Lori Angelicola will discuss the immune boosting and germ fighting qualities of some common grocery staples and the benefits of local plants.
Participants will take home their own bottles of fire cider and elderberry syrup.
Walston and Angelicola met at Twinstar School of Herbal and Energetic Healing on Bank Street in New Milford where they completed The Art and Science of Herbalism, a Rosemary Gladstar correspondence course.
They’ve been gardening, foraging, making herbal concoctions and sharing their knowledge together ever since.
The cost is $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members.
